2 Nagpur Police Constables Suspended for Gambling and Smoking on Duty
Nagpur, India: Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-V) Niketan Kadam has suspended two police constables, Manoj Ghadge and Bhushan Sahusakde after they were caught gambling and smoking while in uniform at Kalamna Police Chowky on Old Kamptee Road.
The suspension came after a video of the incident went viral on social media, sparking widespread criticism of the Nagpur City Police. The footage shows the two constables engaging in gambling inside the police chowky, with one of them smoking in uniform. The video triggered public outrage, bringing the incident to the attention of law enforcement officials.
In response to the public outcry and the evidence presented in the video, DCP Kadam took immediate action, suspending the two constables. He has also instructed Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kamptee Division) Vishal Kshirsagar to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
The Nagpur City Police have faced significant scrutiny following the release of this shocking video, with citizens across the country expressing their dissatisfaction over the inappropriate behaviour of the officers while on duty.
