22-Year-Old Engineer Dies in Road Accident; Friend Critically Injured
Nagpur, India: A road accident on Wardha Road on Saturday night claimed the life of a 22-year-old engineer and left his friend seriously injured. The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. under the jurisdiction of Hingna Police Station.
The victims, Kunal Sukant Vishwas (22) and Ashish Shivprasad Patel (24), were riding a motorcycle (CG-11/AX8565) when an unidentified vehicle collided with them from behind near the Old Toll Naka of Dongargaon. The vehicle fled the scene, dragging the men and their motorcycle for some distance, which led to severe injuries.
Witnesses quickly alerted the authorities, and both men were taken to Swami Vivekanand Hospital. Kunal Vishwas was pronounced dead at the scene, while Ashish Patel is in critical condition.
Both engineers were from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and worked together at a healthcare company in MIHAN. They were heading to a Dhaba for a meal after a night shift. They lived with a friend at Urban Glory Apartment in Khapri.
Kunal's body has been sent to AIIMS Hospital for a postmortem. Omkar Patel, a friend who had been in contact with Kunal before the accident, is reportedly devastated by the news.
The police have filed a case against the unidentified driver and are conducting an investigation to track down the perpetrator.
