3.07 kg Ganja Valued at ₹76,750 Seized by Nagpur Police in Yashodhara Nagar

Nagpur, India: In a breakthrough, the Yashodharanagar Police arrested a 51-year-old man for illegal possession of ganja. Acting on reliable information, the police raided on 22nd January 2025 around 12:50 PM near Guddu’s Pan Stall in Dhamdeep Nagar, Indiramata Nagar.

The accused, identified as Abdul Shahid Abdul Nawab, was found in possession of 3.07 kilograms of ganja valued at ₹76,750. The contraband was discovered while searching his residence, where it was stored in two separate bags.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused intended to sell the cannabis for financial gain. His actions violated Sections 8(c) and 20(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

A case has been registered, and the accused has been taken into custody. Further investigations are underway to determine if others were involved in the illegal activity.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kumar Singhal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional Commissioner Pramod Shevale, Deputy Commissioner Niketan Kadam, and Assistant Commissioner Vishal Kshirsagar. A team including PI Ramesh Khune, API Sadashiv Kanse, PSI Pramod Kangale, and constables Amol Bhendekar and Rahul Shetty executed the successful raid.

Authorities have assured strict action against illegal drug activities in the city.
