30-Hour Water Supply Shutdown for Pipeline Replacement Near Nagpur Railway Station
Nagpur, India: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Orange City Water (OCW) have announced a 30-hour water supply shutdown starting at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 21, 2024. The shutdown is necessary for replacing a 40-meter section of an 800mm mild steel (MS) pipeline located near Ramjhula, close to Nagpur Railway Station.
This pipeline, which supplies water to the Sitabuldi Fort-1 Ground Service Reservoir (GSR), has severely deteriorated and is beyond repair. Currently running through a drainage system and submerged during the rainy season, the pipeline frequently causes disruptions. The replacement will involve installing a new section at a higher level, away from drain water, ensuring a reliable water supply to the Sitabuldi Fort-1 command area.
