44-Year-Old Truck Cleaner Killed in Hit-and-Run on Wardha Road
Nagpur, India: A 44-year-old truck cleaner, Senthilkumar M. Mani, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on Wardha Road near Sandesh City. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Hingna Police Station on Saturday evening.
Senthilkumar, a resident of Umakondapatti in Salem district, Tamil Nadu, was working on a truck (TN-52/AD-7098) driven by Ramesh V. Varadhrasu, also 44, from Illupur, Pillapalayam, Salem district. The truck was transporting plywood and cloth from Uttar Pradesh to Tamil Nadu.
At around 8 PM, the duo stopped the vehicle near Sandesh City. Senthilkumar stepped out to cross the road for dinner when a speeding vehicle struck him. The impact left him with severe injuries, and he was rushed to AIIMS Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
Hingna Police have registered a case under Sections 281 and 106(a) of the Bombay Police Act, along with Sections 177, 134, and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The search for the vehicle and driver involved in the hit-and-run is ongoing.
Police have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in identifying the vehicle and driver responsible for the accident.
