5 Dead, Several Injured in Explosion at Ordnance Factory in Bhandara
Vidarbha, Bhandara, India: A massive explosion at an ordnance factory in Jawhar Nagar, Bhandara, has resulted in the deaths of five people and injured several others. The blast happened around 11 a.m. and was so powerful that it was heard up to five kilometres away.
The explosion occurred in a section of the factory where raw materials, similar to sago, are used to make RDX. The blast caused a huge fire, and smoke spread throughout the area.
Five workers lost their lives in the explosion, and between five to seven others were injured. Rescue teams were able to save 13 workers trapped inside the factory, and the injured were taken to the hospital.
The police are investigating the cause of the explosion, while emergency services continue to control the fire and prevent further damage. The incident has raised concerns about safety in factories that handle dangerous materials.
