62-Year-Old Woman Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident
Nagpur, India: An elderly woman lost her life in a hit and run accident in the Koradi Police Station area. She was struck by an SUV, and the driver ran away. Unfortunately, she died from her injuries before receiving medical help.
The woman has been identified as 62 year old Baranbai Urkuda Wasnik, a resident of Phule Nagar, Mahadula. Police reported that the accident took place around 1:30 p.m. on February 16 when she was crossing the footpath on Koradi Road, heading toward the Kawwaapara area.
Meanwhile, the driver of an SUV (MH-33/A-3337) hit her with great force and then drove away toward Dahegaon. People nearby quickly called the police.
She was taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment, but doctors confirmed that she had died before arriving.
Following a complaint from her grandson Vishal, the police registered a case against the unidentified driver and started an investigation.
