7 Districts In Gadchiroli Declare 'No Entry' for Naxals, Seek Safety

People from seven villages in the district have come together to stop Naxals from entering their villages. These villages are Parayanar, Nelgunda, Kucher, Kawande, Gongwada, Mundapalli, and Mahakapadi. During an agricultural event, villagers gave copies of their decision to the police at Dhodraj Station.
Since 2003, the State Government has supported villages that keep Naxals out with help for development. Many villages have already banned Naxals before. Now, these seven villages near Abuzmad, a Naxal stronghold, are also saying no to Naxals.
In addition to banning Maoist entry, villagers have resolved not to provide food, ration, water, or any other assistance to Maoist terrorists. They have also decided not to participate in any Maoist-organized meetings or training sessions. Villagers from Mundapalli removed spikes planted by Maoists to harm police and handed them over to authorities in Dhodraj.
The agricultural camp was part of Project Udan under the ‘Police Dadalora Khidki’ initiative by Gadchiroli Police. According to police sources, villagers are tired of Maoist violence and the unjust killing of innocent people labelled as police informants by Maoist groups.
