9-Year-Old Raped in Pardi, Gave ₹20 to Younger Sister to Remain Silent
Nagpur, India: A 9-year-old girl was raped in the Pardi area, at around 4 pm on Sunday, 17 September 2024. The accused, whose identity hasn't been revealed yet, committed the crime in the presence of the victim's 5-year-old younger sister. The accused gave her ₹20 to remain silent. Nagpur police are monitoring the pieces of evidence to get through the accused.
The sisters were alone as their parents, both daily wage workers, were away at work at the time of the incident. The family, which hails from Gondia, had gone back to their native place some years ago after the survivor’s father met with an accident. They returned to Nagpur around three months ago.
The incident came to light when the minor girl shared the happening to her parents when they returned home from the work. The parents rushed to the Pardi police station and filed an FIR, acting on this police personnel sent the minor to medical examination. The examination confirmed rape, as she had blood stains on her undergarments.
Based on the information provided by the 5-year-old sister: The police believe that the person who speaks Marathi wears a 'tilak' on their forehead, and knows that the girls are alone during the day because their parents are at work, and may be familiar with the family, The accused entered the home on the pretext of asking whether the parents were at home, left soon after he sexually assaulted the minor girl.
