Advocate Qureshi Dies of Heart Attack During Court Proceedings
Nagpur, India: The legal community is grieving the sudden death of Advocate Talat Iqbal Qureshi, who passed away due to a heart attack while presenting arguments in a courtroom on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at the District Court, where the 60-year-old lawyer from Prashant Colony, Gorewada Road, Borgaon, was set to argue a civil case before Judge S.B. Pawar on the seventh floor of Nyay Mandir.
After delivering his initial arguments, Advocate Qureshi informed the court that he would issue a citation and then took a seat. During the opposing counsel's arguments, Qureshi suddenly collapsed in his chair.
Judge Pawar immediately rushed to his aid, provided water, and, along with Advocate Roshan Bagde, transported Qureshi to a private hospital in Sadar using Judge Pawar's car. Despite their efforts, Qureshi was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Advocate Qureshi had been living alone after losing his wife to COVID-19. Two daughters and extended family members survive him. His body was cremated at the Kamptee graveyard on Saturday night.
