Nagpur, India: Ajni Police have arrested three individuals, including two brothers, in relation to the brutal murder of 32-year-old Pawan alias Deepak Vijay Sontakke. The incident occurred on Monday night at Shatabdi Chowk in full public view.
The accused have been identified as Rajesh Ruprao Pradhan (32), his brother Bhima Pradhan (35), and Vicky Bhimrao Gambhir (30), all residents of Kaushalya Nagar. The victim, Sontakke, who lived in Lane No. 2, Ramteke Nagar, and worked as a salesman at a footwear shop in Sitabuldi, was involved in a heated argument with the Pradhan brothers, Gambhir, and some local autorickshaw drivers. The argument escalated when Sontakke allegedly hurled abuses at the group. In a violent outburst, the accused trio, along with their intoxicated accomplices, attacked Sontakke with sharp-edged weapons, killing him on the spot in front of shocked bystanders. The police arrived to find Sontakke's body lying in a pool of blood, which was later sent to Government Medical College & Hospital for an autopsy.
Using footage from nearby CCTV cameras, the police quickly identified and apprehended the suspects in the early hours of Tuesday. Ajni Police have recorded the statement of Madhuri (30), Sontakke's wife, and have registered a case under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita against the accused.
