Alia Bhatt Responds to Ranbir Kapoor Being Portrayed as a 'Toxic' Partner: "I Feel Bad Because He's the Opposite of That"
Alia Bhatt has openly addressed the portrayal of Ranbir Kapoor as a 'toxic' partner, referencing her previous statement about him asking her to remove lipstick as he prefers her natural lip shade. During her appearance on Koffee With Karan 8, Alia discussed the aftermath of her statement, explaining to Karan Johar that she tends to speak candidly and often imitates the person she's talking about in her life.
Reflecting on the online reaction to her statement, Alia remarked, "I feel like a lot of things get picked out of context, which happened with a video. I looked at it, and my team told me, 'This is getting out of hand.' I thought, 'Okay, fine, let it go,' because they tell things all the time. But then I realized there are serious articles about how he is a toxic man."
She went on to express her disbelief, stating, "And I am like, 'Are we serious?' There are many issues in the world to talk about and give more attention to than discussing something I said in a completely different context. I think the only reason I felt bad, or I feel bad, is that people misunderstand (him) because he's genuinely the opposite of all of that."
Ranbir Kapoor had recently addressed the matter, stating that he supports those fighting against toxic masculinity. He also mentioned that if people want to use him as the face of toxic masculinity, it's acceptable because their fight extends beyond his personal feelings about their opinion of what he said.
