All India Civil Services Cultural Showdown Competition Starting Jan 29

Organized by the Maharashtra Government and Sachivalaya Gymkhana, the All India Civil Services music, dance, and short play competition is set to take place in Nagpur from January 29 to February 2. The event will unfold between 10 am and 6 pm at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall in Civil Lines.

Nineteen teams from diverse states across the country will participate in this grand event. The inaugural function on January 29 will be graced by Vijayalakshmi Bidari, Divisional Commissioner, as the chief guest. Sujitkumar Mishra, Secretary, Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board, New Delhi, will also be present on the occasion.

To mark the competition's inauguration, Swapnil Arts has organized a 'Warkari Dindi,' with participants from rural areas. Additionally, the Maharashtra Government's team will present the 'Maharashtra Darshan' program.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for 6 pm on February 2 at Deshpande Hall, with Dr Vipin Itankar, District Collector, as the chief guest. The South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur, is assisting with judges and technical support.

The music segment of the competition will encompass categories such as Hindustani Classical singing, Hindustani Semi-Classical singing, Carnatic Classical Vocal, Carnatic Semi-Classical Vocal, Western Vocal, Folk Songs (Solo), and Folk Songs (Group). The dance segment will feature Classical (Solo), Western (Solo), Folk Dance (Solo), and Folk Dance (Group) categories.

The short play segment has a single category. Mangal Nakhwa, Honorary Joint Secretary of Sachivalaya Gymkhana, serves as the Secretary for the competition, with guidance from Anant Shetye, Chairman of Sachivalaya Gymkhana.

Prominent figures attending include Tushar Hirlekar, Deputy Chairman; Arvind Shete, Honorary Treasurer; Satish Sonwane, Sunil Agarkar, Makarand Gayawal, Sanjay Pophale, Pravin Mundhe, Jaydeep Kamat, Pratap Madkar, Avinash Desai, and Aparna Jadhav.
