Ambazari Lake Overflow Bridge Demolition Begins Without Prior Warning
Nagpur, India- Residents of Nagpur were caught off guard when authorities began demolishing a low-height bridge at Ambazari overflow point without warning. The demolition work, which started on Wednesday, led to the closure of a busy stretch of road from Ambazari T-point to Subhash Nagar T-point, leaving people confused and forced to find alternative routes.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Nagpur City Police, announced the closure of the road stretch for a month. This closure is necessary because the Public Works Department (PWD) is building a new bridge to improve the flow of water from Ambazari Lake.
While the construction of the new bridge is essential, many residents are concerned about the lack of communication from the authorities. Normally, the Traffic Control Branch issues notifications about road closures to inform citizens, but in this case, there was no such warning.
This incident raises questions about whether government agencies are exempt from following rules that they enforce on others. Residents feel that if they were to break the rules, they would face consequences, but when it comes to authorities, the same standards don't seem to apply.
