Ambazari Police Crack Down on Theft and Vehicle Robbery; Five Arrested
Nagpur, India: Ambazari Police have arrested a key suspect involved in housebreaking and vehicle theft, solving five major cases in the process. The crackdown took place between 10:00 PM on August 16, 2024, and 6:00 AM on August 17, 2024.
The case began when Kunal Krishna Chafle, a 23-year-old resident of Sanjay Nagar, Pandharabodi, Nagpur, reported a theft. Chafle had locked up his office at the Lawn Tennis Ground, Bajiprabhu Nagar, Ramnagar, Nagpur, before heading home. When he returned, he discovered that an unknown thief had broken into the office, forced open the locker, and stolen ₹35,000 in cash. Ambazari Police registered a case under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the IPC based on Chafle's complaint.
During their investigation, Ambazari Police, patrolling the Ambazari Bypass Road, received credible information about suspicious individuals in the area. Acting on this, they detained five people found at the scene with their vehicle. Among those arrested, Himanshu alias Chinna Ramkrishna Narpinwar, 20, from Plot No. 149, Trust Layout, Ambazari, Nagpur, confessed to the theft and involvement in other criminal activities. The remaining four individuals were identified as juvenile offenders.
The police recovered stolen goods worth ₹2,29,400, including ₹9,400 in cash and various vehicles. The vehicles included a grey Activa moped, a Hero Honda Shine, a brown Activa moped, a grey CB Shine, and a black Splendor bike.
This operation was carried out under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 2, and the Sitabuldi Division, with contributions from Vinayak Golhe, Rajesh Sonawane, Abhay Pudke, Munindra Inawate, Dinesh Jugnaha, Amit Bhure, Ankush Ghate, Satish Karem, Romit Raut, and Ashish Jadhav.
