Amravati Police Arrest 3 for Sexual Exploitation of Minor in Shirkhed
Three people, including a woman, have been arrested for sexually exploiting a 17-year-old girl who volunteered at a local math (a religious community center). The arrests followed a complaint made by the victim on February 18, 2025.
The suspects are Surendra Muni Talegaonkar from Amravati, Balasaheb Desai from Nanded, and a female relative of the victim. The reported incidents took place between April 2 and June 29, 2024.
The girl started volunteering at the math on January 1, 2024, along with her relative. On the night of April 2, Talegaonkar allegedly called her to the basement, locked the door, assaulted her, and threatened her if she told anyone. The abuse continued, with Desai also taking advantage of her during his visits.
The victim's relative discovered she was pregnant during a hospital visit, but the abuse continued. On November 4, 2024, Talegaonkar kicked the girl out of the math. After some time, she decided to seek help and reported the incidents to the police with her mother.
The police have charged the accused with several serious offenses, including rape, and are continuing their investigation.
