Another Hit-and-Run Claims Life of 38-Year-Old Man in Yasodhara Nagar
Nagpur, India- In a yet another incident late Tuesday night, a 38-year-old man lost his life in a hit-and-run accident near Chikhli Bridge in the Yasodhara Nagar area.
The victim, identified as Ashok Hiralal Purohit and a resident of Hiwri Nagar, was riding on a Honda Activa (registration number MH-31/AZ-4275) with his friend Mohammad Jamir Mohammad Israil Qureshi (43), who operates a decoration business. They were returning home from Shyam Lawns in Yasodhara Nagar around 11:30 pm when tragedy struck.
A speeding motor vehicle crashed with them at Chikhli Bridge, causing serious injuries to Ashok. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leaving Ashok in critical condition. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, the doctors declared him dead.
Following the incident, the police recorded a statement from Mohammad Jamir, a resident of Parvesh Nagar. Subsequently, a case was registered under sections 279, 338, and 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code, along with sections 14, 177, and 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act. An investigation into the matter has been initiated by the authorities to apprehend the culprit responsible for this tragic loss of life.
