Balbiradari" Initiative Brings Arts and Sports to Empower Underprivile
Nagpur, India: The Nagpur Police, under the guidance of Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal, has launched the "Balbiradari" initiative, aimed at empowering underprivileged children in the city. The program focuses on providing opportunities in arts, sports, music, and dance to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who show a strong desire to succeed despite their challenging circumstances.
Dr. Singal, who has successfully implemented the "Balbiradari" program in various parts of the state, introduced this initiative in Nagpur to use cultural activities to promote stability and harmony within the community. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, group dance teams were formed and trained at different locations across Nagpur. The initiative received support from social organizations like Rainbow Foundation and Cyclone Dance Academy, along with teachers from municipal schools and social workers, who helped organize dance groups comprising children from remote areas, slums, and various neighborhoods.
These groups performed a patriotic group dance on August 15, 2024, at 5:30 PM at the Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Hall in Civil Lines during the main government cultural event for the Nagpur division. Participating schools included Jawaharlal Nehru Vidyalaya, Jagdish Nagar, RBGG Vidyalaya, Bijli Nagar, Sadar, Manpa Hindi Vidyalaya, Makardhokda, and Sanjaynagar Hindi Madhyamik Vidyalaya, along with the Ayup Dance Institute from Koradi.
The event was attended by Police Commissioner Dr Ravindra Kumar Singal, Senior Police Inspectors Manish Thakre and Vinod Tiwari, Primary Education Officer Siddheshwar Kalshe, and other distinguished guests from Nagpur's cultural, environmental, and heritage sectors. The "Balbiradari" initiative and the performances were widely praised, highlighting the positive impact of cultural engagement in the community.
