BJP Leader Ajay Pathak Receives Threat Call from Syria Over Nagpur Violence

Nagpur: Maharashtra BJP spokesperson Ajay Pathak has filed a complaint at Sitabuldi police station after getting a threatening call from a number linked to Syria. Pathak has asked for police protection, and the police have started an investigation. The case has also been sent to the Cyber Police for further checking.

Call Came from Syria’s +97 Code

Police said Pathak received the call from a number with the +97 country code, which belongs to Syria. However, the number is no longer active. The Cyber Cell is now checking the details to trace where the call came from and if it is real.

Pathak mentioned in his complaint that he had been giving his views on the recent Nagpur riots on news channels. He got the first threat call warning him of serious consequences, which he ignored. But after getting another call on Monday, he informed senior BJP leaders. Following their advice, he reported the matter to the Sitabuldi police.

The police are looking into the matter, and extra security for Pathak is being considered. The Cyber Police is working to find out where the call came from and if it poses a real danger.
