Boyfriend Charged with Rape, Lodge Owner Arrested in Ramtek Incident
Ramtek: Ramtek police have arrested a boyfriend and a lodge owner after a girl accused her boyfriend of raping her on February 10. The arrested individuals are Shubham Wankhade (30), from Ramtek, and Pravin Kamble (35), from Bhandara district.
The girl, a minor, told police that she and Shubham had been dating for a year. On the day of the incident, Shubham took her to the Khawaish Cafe on Mouda Road and booked a room. The girl initially resisted, but later agreed to have sex.
After complaining of stomach pain, the girl’s mother took her for a medical check-up, which confirmed that she had been raped. An FIR was filed, leading to the arrest of both men.
Shubham has been charged with rape, and Pravin was arrested for running the lodge without a licence. Investigations are still ongoing.
