Buckle Up for Monsoon Politics: Maharashtra Legislature's Session to Start on July 17
The Monsoon session of the Maharashtra State Legislature is set to commence on July 17, as announced by the Business Advisory Committee of the State Legislature after its meeting on Friday. The decision to hold the session for the duration of July 17 to August 4 was finalized during the meeting.
Prominent political figures including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who recently joined the Shiv Sena-BJP government, were present at the meeting alongside Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Considering the recent inclusion of nine NCP leaders as ministers in the government, it is unlikely that there will be any further expansions before the session. The allocation of portfolios to the new ministers is expected to be completed before the Monsoon session.
Sources from the Shiv Sena have indicated that all the new ministers may be appointed as cabinet members. The finalization of portfolio allocation is anticipated to take place within the next couple of days. Additionally, a few members from the BJP and Shiv Sena are likely to be inducted into the ministry alongside the newly appointed NCP leaders.
