Bus Overturns on Samruddhi Expressway in Washim, 1 Dead, 20 Injured

SHELUBAZAR (WASHIM) – A private bus travelling from Pune to Amravati overturned on the Samruddhi Expressway early on Monday, February 17, leaving one person dead and 20 others injured. The accident happened about 5 km from the Vanoja toll plaza.

The driver is suspected to have fallen asleep, causing the bus to lose control and flip over. Aleem Khan Kadar Khan, 44, from Dudhgaon in Darwha tehsil, died in the crash. Around four to five passengers were seriously injured and were taken to Akola for treatment.

After the accident, MLA Shyam Khode was informed and ordered help for the injured. Police and other officials arrived at the scene quickly, and the Mangrulpir Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Ashok Nete Escapes Injury in Car Crash

Former MP Ashok Nete and his companions escaped unhurt after their car collided with a truck in Gadchiroli on Sunday. Nete was on his way to Amgaon when the car hit the back of a heavily loaded truck. The car's front was badly damaged, but Nete and his passengers were safe. The incident is being investigated by local police.
