Central Railway Enhances Passenger Safety with CCTV Installation at Key Stations

Nagpur, India: In a major step towards improving passenger safety and security, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway has installed CCTV cameras on the Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) at 18 key stations. This initiative, designed to provide continuous surveillance, demonstrates Central Railway’s dedication to ensuring a secure travel experience for passengers throughout the division.

The security upgrade covers important stations, including Khapri, Butibori, Wardha, Warora, Wani, Sewagram, Dhamangaon, Chandrapur, Balharshah, Katol, Ghoradongri, Amla, Multai, Betul, Parasia, Ajni, Nagpur, Pandurna, and several others.

These CCTV cameras will be vital for live monitoring, enhancing the Railway authorities' ability to manage crowds effectively and ensure passenger safety, particularly during busy hours.

Manish Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager of Nagpur Division, stated that the installation of CCTV cameras on FOBs reflects the division's strong commitment to passenger safety. These systems will ensure continuous monitoring and act as a preventive measure against illegal activities, creating a safer environment for passengers.

The cameras will be linked to the central monitoring systems at each station, allowing quick action from Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and station authorities if any security issues arise. This improved surveillance will help maintain a well-managed and safe environment at some of the busiest stations in the division, providing an important security boost for both passengers and Railway staff.

The installation of CCTV cameras on Foot Over Bridges is part of Central Railway’s wider security efforts, aimed at providing safer travel and highlighting the railways' dedication to passenger safety and service quality.
