Chef Vishnu Manohar’s Social Media Hacked, Obscene Posts Go Viral

Nagpur, India: Nagpur-based celebrity chef Vishnu Manohar’s Facebook page, ‘Master Recipe’, was hacked around ten days ago, leading to the posting of obscene content. The page, followed by over 4.5 lakh people, is known for sharing Indian and Maharashtrian cuisine recipes.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Manohar said he was shocked and distressed when people started blaming him for the inappropriate posts. Many followers, unaware of the hack, believed that he had uploaded the content himself. He received numerous angry calls and messages, making it difficult for him to focus on his work.
In response, Manohar filed complaints with cybercrime authorities in Nagpur, Pune, and Bengaluru. He also reported the issue to Meta, the company that owns Facebook, hoping to recover his page soon. Manohar urged his followers not to click on any suspicious links from the hacked account, as it could lead to further security risks.
Cybercrime experts are now investigating the matter and have assured him that the content may be restored in the coming days. Manohar, who runs the page out of passion for cooking, said it was heartbreaking to see it misused in this way.
Authorities have advised social media users to protect their accounts by enabling two-factor authentication, avoiding suspicious links, and regularly updating their passwords.
