Chelsea to miss two of its major players in the upcoming league
Nottingham Forest held the home team at bay with a well-planned defense, and even though they were down to 10 men in the 78th minute, they managed to earn a thrilling 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
With 14 points from seven games, Chelsea—who had 66 percent of the ball possession in the match—remained in fourth place, while Forest was in tenth place.
Five minutes into the second half, a James Ward-Prowse free-kick found defender Nikola Milenkovic, who headed for Chris Wood to tap it home, breaking the scoreless draw between the two teams in London.
The goal gave the game momentum before Chelsea took advantage of a rare mistake in the Forest defense to equalize, with Noni Madueke reaching the bottom corner after grabbing a cross from Cole Palmer.
Although Jackson managed to avoid a booking, referee Chris Kavanagh startled Cucurella by showing him the yellow card. Colwill and Williams were also scheduled. Welsey Fofana of Chelsea was given a yellow card shortly after taking down Jota Silva, the replacement.
Cucurella and Fofana are expected to miss Chelsea's trip to Liverpool following the international break, according to the twin bookings for the team.
