Chhaava Outshines Gully Boy’s Valentine’s Day Record with ₹31 Crore Collection on Day 1

Vicky Kaushal’s much-anticipated period drama Chhaava has made a grand debut at the box office, registering the highest opening for an Indian film on Valentine’s Day. The Laxman Utekar directorial, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, and Divya Dutta, has collected an impressive ₹31 crore (nett) across all languages on its first day.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, Chhaava has managed to surpass the previous Valentine’s Day record held by Gully Boy, which earned ₹19.40 crore in 2019. The film also marks Vicky Kaushal’s biggest career opener, outperforming Uri: The Surgical Strike, which collected ₹8.20 crore on its first day. Additionally, it has overtaken Sky Force, Akshay Kumar’s recent release, which opened at ₹15.30 crore last month.
With a strong 35.17% occupancy in Hindi on the opening day, Chhaava is off to a solid start. Industry experts believe that if the momentum continues, the film could achieve remarkable numbers in the coming days.
