Nagpur, India: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti will be celebrated with a grand procession in Nagpur on 19th February. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has planned a "Jai Shivaji – Jai Bharat" foot march, which will commence from the NMC headquarters in Civil Lines at 7:00 AM. Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary conducted a review meeting on 14th February to oversee the preparations.
The meeting, held at the Municipal Commissioner’s conference hall, was attended by Additional Commissioner Anchal Goyal, Ajay Charathankar, Chief Engineer Leena Upadhye, Deputy Commissioners Vijaya Bankar, Dr. Ranjana Lade, Vijay Deshmukh, Milind Meshram, Prakash Varade, Ashok Garate, and other senior officials from various departments.
Union Minister for Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs, and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has sent a directive to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to organise the "Jai Shivaji – Jai Bharat" foot march across all 36 districts of the state. The initiative aims to ensure widespread participation and tribute to the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
On 19th February at 7:30 AM, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the public, and his speech will be live-streamed at the rally venue by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Following the address, a six-kilometre-long march will take place to pay homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary has urged maximum participation from citizens, especially the youth. Participants can also receive an official certificate for their involvement by logging into the My Bharat portal.
