Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Wagh Nakh to Be Displayed in Nagpur From Feb 7

Nagpur, India: History lovers and fans of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj can now see the famous wagh nakh (tiger claws) weapon, which played a key role in the Maratha empire. The weapon will be displayed at Nagpur's Central Museum starting February 7.

The Maharashtra government has brought the wagh nakh back from the UK for this special exhibition, called ‘Shivashastra Shaurya Gatha.’ Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will open the exhibition, joined by Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.

A special hall at the Central Museum (Ajab Bangla) in Civil Lines has been prepared for the display, and it will feature other Maratha-era weapons, including swords, shields, and the dandpatta, the Maratha state weapon. Visitors can also see the rare Agnibaan weapon.

Along with the exhibition, there will be live demonstrations of Mardani Khel (martial arts) and Maratha weapon use, giving visitors a deeper understanding of the history and skills of Shivaji Maharaj and his warriors.

The wagh nakh will also travel to Satara, Kolhapur, and Mumbai after its stay in Nagpur, giving more people in Maharashtra a chance to witness this historic weapon.
