Cold Winds Bring Chilling Temperatures: City Records 9.4°C Minimum
The city experienced a dip in temperature as cold winds from the south pushed the mercury down to 9.4 degrees Celsius, marking the first time it has fallen below 10 degrees Celsius this season. This reflects a decrease of 3.4 degrees from the previous day's minimum temperature. Nagpur ranked as the second coldest city in the Vidarbha region, while Gondia and Yavatmal recorded a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department reported a morning humidity of 61 per cent, which decreased to 49 per cent in the evening. Meanwhile, the city's maximum temperature reached 26.8 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below the average.
There is a possibility that the minimum temperature could drop to 8 degrees Celsius by December 23. Notably, the city's coldest day in December was recorded at 3.5 degrees Celsius on December 29, 2018.
