Conflict between two groups in Nagpur over cattle smuggling
Early on Friday morning, authorities said that two gangs, one of which was allegedly involved in livestock smuggling, clashed in Nagpur city, Maharashtra, leaving one person hurt and exchanging gunfire. According to an official, the event happened in the Uppalwadi area about 5:30 in the morning.
When Sheikh Imran, a 23-year-old livestock supplier, and his three pals arrived at a gas station on Kamptee Road, they noticed some people driving an SUV carrying cows.
The official stated that Sheikh Shadab, a 27-year-old accused man, and his accomplice opened fire on Imran and his companions after they chased the SUV till it stopped in the Uppalwadi neighborhood.
Imran claimed that one of the group's members got left behind and was attacked with sharp objects, while he and two of his buddies were able to flee. The man was hurt and sent to a hospital, where his condition is severe, according to the official, after Imran went back to the scene and phoned the police.
According to him, six people have been charged with attempted murder in violation of Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and other pertinent laws. Sheikh Shadab, one of the accused, has been taken into custody.
