Controversy Surrounds PM Modi Upcoming Futala Fountain Unveiling in Nagpur
In February, Prime Minister Modi was set to unveil the Futala Fountain in Nagpur, but before its launch, the project has become embroiled in controversies. The Swachh Association, an environmental advocacy group, has filed a public interest litigation in the High Court, citing concerns about the construction of the fountain and an accompanying audience gallery.
Justices Atulchan Doordukar and Vrushali Joshi have issued notices to the state government and others, ordering them to respond to the concerns raised by the Swachh Association.
Jashirke stated that his organization, the Swachh Association, works exclusively on environmental matters. He has raised concerns about the legality of the musical fountain and audience gallery, and has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court to declare them illegal. However, the court declined to hear the case, citing jurisdiction issues. Therefore, a petition has been filed in the Nagpur Bench.
The state government has yet to respond to the concerns raised by the Swachh Association and the legal action taken by Jashirke. The public is waiting for more information and clarification on the situation.
