Court Finalises Chahal-Dhanashree Divorce After 2 Years of Separation

Nagpur, India: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal is officially divorced from his wife, Dhanashree Verma. This announcement was made by his lawyer, Nitin Kumar Gupta, at a press conference on Thursday.

“The court has granted the decree of divorce. Both parties have agreed, and they are no longer husband and wife,” Gupta said, confirming the end of their marriage.

Chahal and Verma had been living apart for over two and a half years. The court noted that they had followed all the terms regarding alimony that were agreed upon during mediation.

According to Hindu law, couples who have been separated for at least a year can file for mutual consent divorce. However, there is usually a six-month waiting period for reconciliation. A Supreme Court ruling in 2017 made it clear that this waiting period can be waived if the court believes there is no chance of the couple getting back together.

Recently, Chahal was bought by the Punjab Kings (PBKS) for ₹18 crore during the IPL 2025 auction.

Dhanashree Verma, 28, is a popular dancer known for her unique performances that mix traditional and modern dance styles.

Chahal was recently seen at the Champions Trophy Final with social media influencer RJ Mahvash, leading to speculation about their relationship, as they have been linked before.
