Crime Branch Seizes LPG Cylinders, Arrests Man for Illegal Refilling in Amravati

Vidarbha, Amravati: The Crime Branch team apprehended an individual involved in illegally refilling LPG in an autorickshaw. The operation took place at Imam Nagar on February 16. The arrested person, identified as Shahjad Parvej Abdul Zaheer (37), had valuables worth Rs 2.67 lakh seized by the police.
The Crime Branch Unit-1 received a tip-off about LPG cylinders from Bharat Gas Company being illegally refilled in an autorickshaw at Imam Nagar. Acting on this information, the LCB team conducted a raid at the location. During the operation, the police discovered an individual refilling the vehicle using a refilling machine and a plastic pipe.
Additionally, two other autorickshaws were also at the site for illegal gas refilling. The refilling was being carried out using domestic LPG cylinders. The police have arrested Shahjad Parvej Abdul Zaheer (37) and handed him over to Nagpuri Gate police for further legal action.
The police seized valuables worth Rs 2.67 lakh, which included 22 Bharat Gas Company LPG cylinders valued at Rs 55,000, one empty domestic refill cylinder worth Rs 2,000, and other materials. Two autorickshaws (MH-27-BW-5355 and MH-27-P-8218) were found at the scene. The operation was carried out by Police Inspector Gorakhnath Jadhav.
