Crime Branch Unit 3 Arrests Two for Vehicle Theft and House Burglary
Nagpur, India: The Crime Branch Unit 3 of Nagpur Police has arrested two men involved in vehicle theft and house burglary. The arrests led to the solving of four cases.
The incident happened between 8:00 PM on August 18 and 8:00 AM on August 19 in the Dhantoli area of Nagpur. An 85-year-old resident, Purushottam Ramchandra Bhedarkar, had gone to Goa with his family. When his driver came to check the house, he found the door lock broken. The burglars had broken into the house and stolen cash worth ₹10,00,000 and gold jewelry worth ₹13,00,000.
Based on a tip-off, the Crime Branch arrested two suspects, Sagar alias Mandala Vijay Rambhale (22) and Saksham Premnath Mundekar (24), both residents of Nagpur. Upon questioning, they admitted to the burglary and named two other accomplices, Nilesh Chapparghare and Satish Ratanlal Gaur.
The police recovered stolen items, including ₹7,01,000 in cash, gold jewelry, a Titan watch, two mobile phones, and a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle used in the crime, totaling ₹10,96,500. The suspects also confessed to committing thefts in other areas, including Gittikhadan, Pratapnagar, Wadi, Yashodharanagar, and Dhantoli.
The arrested suspects have been handed over to the Dhantoli Police for further investigation. The Crime Branch is also searching for the other accomplices involved in these crimes.
The operation was led by the officers of Crime Branch Unit 3 under the guidance of senior police officials.
