Nagpur, India- Residents of Deshpande Layout in Wardhman Nagar are struggling with daily, unannounced power outages. These frequent interruptions have significantly disrupted daily life and caused damage to household electrical appliances, adding to the residents' woes.
Locals report that the power cuts, attributed to a lack of sufficient transformers in the area, lead to frequent fluctuations in power. These fluctuations have damaged various electrical appliances, including TVs, refrigerators, and fans, resulting in considerable financial losses. Concerns are mounting that if this issue persists, it will continue to cause further problems.
Adding to the danger, several tree branches are contracting power cables, causing sparks. This situation has created a sense of fear among the residents, who are now hesitant to walk on the streets. Drivers in the area are also facing difficulties due to the unpredictable power supply.
The local community's frustration with the power distribution company, Mahavitaran, is growing. Despite numerous complaints filed at the nearby power centre, no action has been taken to address the issue. The residents fear that without prompt intervention, a major incident could occur.
Vinod Kochar, the coordinator of the Deshpande Layout Committee, has urged the administration to resolve the power outage issue as soon as possible to prevent further inconvenience and potential danger.
