Daughter-in-Law and Cousins in Custody After Plot to Kill Sunita Raut Revealed
Nagpur, India: Disturbing new revelations have emerged in the murder case of Sunita Omkar Raut, a 54-year-old resident of Mitra Nagar. Sunita’s daughter-in-law, Vaishali Akhilesh Raut, has been accused of doing the murder and implicating her cousins in the crime.
According to senior police officials, Vaishali had been plotting the murder for nearly a year. She had frequently complained about Sunita to her cousins and parents, aiming to create a negative image of her. On August 26, when her cousins, Shrikant Narendra Hiwse (21) and Ritesh Hiwse (27), arrived at Sunita’s home, Vaishali locked the doors to prevent their escape.
Vaishali had previously sent ₹60,000 online to Shrikant and threatened him over the phone. She warned that if they did not carry out the murder, she would commit suicide and implicate them in her suicide note. Fearing for their own safety, Shrikant and Ritesh traveled to Nagpur and executed the plan.
The cousins strangled Sunita on the night of August 28 while she was sleeping, attempting to stage her death as natural. The investigation revealed that the motive behind this heinous act was a desire to gain access to ₹60 lakh in cash and property.
Even in police custody, Vaishali has shown no remorse. She continues to claim that she is being falsely accused and that her sister-in-law was responsible for the crime. The police are shocked by the extent of the conspiracy and the lack of regret displayed by the accused. The case remains under active investigation.
