Deputy District Registrar Caught Accepting Rs 6 Lakh Bribe
Washim, Akola- In an unexpected turn of events, Digvijay Rathod, the Deputy District Registrar of Washim, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Akola for abiding a bribe of Rs 6 lakh. The arrest happened on Thursday night and caused a ruckus amongst the government officials.
Rathod was accused of asking for a bribe of Rs 9 lakh from a person in exchange for a favourable report in a preliminary inquiry. The person, who is from Tirupati city, reported Rathod to the ACB in Akola. The investigation showed that Rathod had already received part of the bribe before being caught.
