Devendra Fadnavis’ Rally Lights Up Nagpur with Show of Solidarity and Support
Nagpur, India: Nagpur South-West turned festive on Sunday as Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate Devendra Fadnavis led a powerful campaign rally for the upcoming Assembly elections. Roads in Jaitala and surrounding areas were adorned with colourful flags, saffron decorations, welcome arches, and vibrant rangolis. Crowds gathered along the route, showering Fadnavis and his supporters with flowers as they cheered on "Devabhau." Paper blower machines filled the air with confetti, and flowers were even released from JCBs, adding to the celebration.
The rally started from Ekatmata Nagar, where many supporters had gathered early. Fadnavis, joined by his wife Amruta Fadnavis, People’s Republican Party founder Prof. Jogendra Kawade, former Mayor Nanda Jichkar, and other prominent leaders, greeted the cheering crowd from atop a campaign chariot. Motorcycles, cars, and BJP supporters on foot trailed behind, creating a dynamic and energetic procession.
Before starting the rally, Fadnavis visited the local Sheetala Mata Mandir, receiving blessings for the campaign. Fireworks lit up the sky as the rally proceeded, while residents held placards thanking him for neighbourhood development projects. Enthusiastic chants and slogans echoed throughout the route as supporters showed their backing and confidence in a BJP victory.
The rally moved through various localities, including Date Layout, Zade Layout, Anand Nagar, and Sonegaon Lake, where residents eagerly welcomed Fadnavis and his supporters. Several key BJP figures, including former Mayor Sandeep Joshi, Maharashtra State Vice-President Sanjay Bhende, and local leaders, joined in managing the rally. The turnout and enthusiasm across the neighbourhoods underscored the strong support for Fadnavis as the campaign enters its final phase, making a striking show of strength for the BJP in Nagpur South-West.
