Nagpur, India: The Central Railway has built a new road in just 12 days to ensure smooth traffic flow between Dhantoli and Mokshadham on Great Nag Road. This was needed because the road under the Dhantoli railway underbridge (RUB) is closed for repairs. The bridge, which is over 100 years old, has five spans, three of which allow water flow from the Nag River, and two are used for traffic.
The repair work is expected to be done before the monsoon season. Once finished, the temporary road will be removed to restore the river’s natural flow. DCP (Traffic) Archit Chandak praised the teamwork that helped complete the project without causing problems for drivers.
The repair work started in 2022. Initially, the spans for water flow were strengthened, and now the spans used for traffic are being worked on. Once the repairs are done, the road will be reopened before the final stage of work begins.
