Vidarbha, India: Dhapewada is set for a major transformation into Vidarbha’s Pandharpur with a ₹164 crore development project. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and State Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule laid the foundation stone on Sunday, aiming to enhance the Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Temple and improve local infrastructure.

The project includes constructing a prayer hall, renovating Kolba Swami Temple, improving accommodation for devotees, and installing a 5-foot statue of Swami Kolba Swami along the Chandrabhaga River. Additionally, roads will be widened, and a water purification system will be set up.

Gadkari highlighted Dhapewada’s textile industry, particularly its Kosa sarees, and assured government support to promote them in global markets. Women in Dhapewada, Savner, and nearby areas will receive training to boost the handloom sector.

He also announced a new road project from Karanja to Pandhurna and proposed a Farmers' Business School for Vidarbha. The event was attended by several political leaders, temple trust members, and community representatives.
