Nagpur Teen Takes Her Life After Searching 'What Happens After Death'

Nagpur, India: A 17-year-old girl named Prajakta tragically took her own life in Chhatrapati Nagar, Nagpur, after reportedly searching online about what happens after death.

Prajakta, a Standard 12 Arts student, was the only child of her parents. Her father works at the Reserve Bank of India, and her mother is a homemaker. The family lives on the ground floor, while her uncle and grandmother live upstairs.

The incident happened on Sunday night while Prajakta was in her bedroom. She first made cross-shaped cuts on her wrist using a stone-blade knife and later slit her throat. Her mother found her lying in a pool of blood early Monday morning and called for help.

The Dhantoli Police, led by Senior WPI Anamika Mirzapure, investigated the scene and found multiple cuts on her wrist and a deep injury to her throat. They suspect Prajakta had been planning her death for weeks.

Police believe her interest influenced her in online gaming, European cultures, and her research about death. They are also checking if she ordered the knife online, as it is unavailable locally. Teen's search history was found disturbing as her search of 'what happens after death', lead to a tragic loss.

This tragic case serves as a reminder to monitor young people’s online activities and provide support for their mental well-being.
