Dinesh Maloo Held for Evidence Tampering, Gets Bail by District Court

Nagpur, India- On Monday, the Tehsil police arrested Dinesh Maloo on charges of tampering with evidence. Dinesh is the husband of Ritika Maloo, who fatally struck two youngsters on Ram Jhula while driving a Mercedes under the influence of alcohol on February 24. After his arrest, the police presented Dinesh Maloo in court, seeking his custody to aid in the search for Ritika Maloo. They also accused him of tampering with evidence. However, the court rejected the plea for police custody and granted Dinesh bail.
Ritika Maloo, a resident of Deshpande Layout, was charged with driving under the influence and causing the deaths of Mohd Hussain Gulam Mustafa, a resident of Naal Sahab Square, Mominpura, and his friend Mohd Atif Mohd Jiya on the night of February 24.
Following the accident, Ritika Maloo and her companion, Madhuri Shishir Sarda, a resident of Wardaman Nagar, fled the scene. They later surrendered to the police and admitted their involvement in the incident. The Tehsil police have registered a case under Sections 279, 338, and 304(a) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Section 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act. Despite these actions, Ritika Maloo remains at large, and the police are actively searching for her.
