The confrontation unfolded between two prominent Congress figures, Narendra Jichkar and the city's MLA and president, Vikas Thakre, leading to an intense clash between their respective supporters.
The meeting, convened to review the progress of six districts within the Nagpur Division, was held at the Mahakalkar sabhagruha, presided over by Congress Maharashtra Pradesh President Nana Patole. However, the disturbance occurred immediately after the Nagpur city meeting concluded.
As MLA Vikas Thakre attempted to instruct the workers to leave the hall, tensions escalated as Narendra Jichkar ascended the stage, resulting in a physical altercation between the two leaders. Their respective supporters quickly joined the fray, leading to a chaotic scene marked by heated exchanges, verbal abuse, and even the hurling of chairs.
