Djokovic has defeated Musetti four times, having a 19-0 winning record
For the 19th year in a row, Novak Djokovic advanced to the French Open round of 32 on Thursday, as the organizers of Roland Garros prohibited alcohol from the grandstands in an attempt to allay players' rising grievances about rude, boisterous spectators. Spain's Roberto Carballes Baena, ranked 63rd, was defeated by reigning champion Novak Djokovic with 43 winners in a 6-4, 6-1, 6-2 victory.
The three-time winner will next play either Frenchman Gael Monfils or Italian 30th seed Lorenzo Musetti in an attempt to win a record 25th Grand Slam championship. Over their five matches, Djokovic has defeated Musetti four times, and he has a 19-0 winning record versus Monfils.
But in the 2021 French Open, the Italian gave the Serb a serious fright as he won the opening two sets before having to withdraw hurt in the final. "The match versus Roberto was challenging. He made many excellent and accurate strokes, Djokovic remarked.
"I started to play at a better level and played pretty well in the last game of the first set. By the end of the game, I was performing admirably.
Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina, the competitors for the women's title, also made it to the third round on a wet day in the French city.
