Dog Bites Elderly Man, Case Filed Against Owner in Nagpur
Nagpur, India: The Imamwada Police have registered a case against the wife of a doctor after their golden retriever bit an elderly man in Vakilpeth area. The incident took place on April 2 at around 4:30 pm.
According to the police, the victim, 62-year-old Anil Choudhary, was injured while trying to protect his own pet dog from the attacking golden retriever. Choudhary's wife, Kalpana Anil Choudhary, a resident of MIG Colony in Vakilpeth, had taken their dog out for a walk when the incident occurred.
Kalpana stated in her complaint that the golden retriever, belonging to their neighbour Dr Pandit, was being held by a caretaker. However, the dog broke free, attacked her pet, and bit Anil Choudhary when he attempted to intervene. She also mentioned that this was not the first time the same dog had bitten someone.
Dr Pandit’s wife later came to the spot and managed to control the dog. Following the complaint, Imambada Police registered a case under Section 291 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
