Dr. Mahendra Dhore Appointed SGBAU Pro-Vice Chancellor
Nagpur, India- Dr. Mahendra Pundlik Dhore, the Principal of Shivaji Science College in Nagpur, has become the new Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University (SGBAU). He took over the position on Thursday after being unanimously chosen by the University Management Council. Dr. Prasad Wadegaonkar, the previous Pro-Vice-Chancellor, handed over the role to Dr. Dhore.
The ceremony was attended by several key figures from SGBAU, including Vice Chancellor Dr. Milind Barhate, In-charge Registrar Mangesh Varkhede, and Management Council Members Dr. Ravindra Kadu and Dr. Pravin Raghuvanshi. Dr. Dhore’s family, including his brother Ajay Dhore and Prof. Swati Dhore, were also present.
Dr. Dhore has a strong academic background with an M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Science. He has 27 years of teaching experience at the graduate and postgraduate levels, specializing in various fields such as Computation Theory, Natural Language Processing, and Big Data Analysis. He has guided six students to complete their Ph. D.s, with six more currently under his guidance.
He has completed significant research projects funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has published 46 research papers in international journals. Dr. Dhore has also presented his work at conferences in Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Dr. Dhore has held several academic positions, including NAAC Assessor and Member of the Academic Council at Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University. He has received numerous awards, including the RF Krishnakumar Best Principal Gold Medal and the UGC Teacher Fellowship Award.
The SGBAU community, including the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and other staff, congratulated Dr. Dhore on his new role.
