Dr. Sanjay Deshpande inspires students about side effects of love

On Valentine's Day eve, Tirpude College of Social Work hosted an insightful session titled "Pyar Ke Side Effects," with renowned sexologist and counselor Dr. Sanjay Deshpande. He revealed the intricacies and possible "side effects" of love to an enthusiastic audience of hundreds of listeners.

Dr. Deshpande asserts that love transcends fleeting looks and strong experiences, refuting the romanticized notion of love being primarily motivated by physical desire. He said, "A deeper connection, where emotional compatibility and shared values take center stage, is where true love thrives."

Breakups, financial constraints, and the important subject of sexual health were discussed as side consequences. It's critical to be aware of the potential for breakup and to make plans for it. Deshpande said, "Love is a journey where your heart and head are engaged."

Many young girls suffer emotional and physical abuse in toxic relationships because they are misled to believe that physical intimacy corresponds to true love. They believe that these relationships must last at all costs. He stated. "The idea that love only occurs once is a romantic, poetic concept; it is not a fact."

Through the application of scientific research and personal anecdotes, he demonstrated that individuals can experience true love more than once in their lifetime. Dr. Deshpande cautioned about falling for somebody who tries to persuade you that suffering cruelty is the same as true love. "Open communication, mutual respect, and trust are the cornerstones of a healthy relationship." Students participated enthusiastically in the seminar by asking questions and sharing their experiences, resulting in a vibrant exchange of ideas.
