Drug Smuggler Arrested with MD Powder Near GMC Hospital in Nagpur

Nagpur: In a major crackdown, Ajni police arrested a drug smuggler attempting to sell Mephedrone (MD powder) near the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) in Nagpur.

The accused, identified as Prashant Vishram Chute (34), a resident of Rambagh, was caught red-handed in front of the Ophthalmology Department at GMC&H. Acting on a tip-off, the police set up a trap and successfully apprehended the smuggler.

Seized Items

During the operation, the police recovered:

  • 4.23 grams of MD powder
  • A mobile phone
  • A scooter

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Sr PI Nitin Chandra Rajkumar, with the efforts of API Laxman Kendre, PSI Ankit Ambepawar, and team members including Head Constable Omkar Barabhai, Nitin Somkuwar, Ashwin Sahare, Naresh Shravankar, Roshan Vadibhasme, and Manish Bhalme.

This swift action underscores the commitment of Nagpur police to combat the drug menace in the city. Investigations are ongoing to identify the source of the drugs and other individuals involved in the network.
