E-Cigarette Shop Raided in MIDC; Stock Worth ₹2 Lakh Seized
Nagpur, India: Following a tip-off, Crime Branch Unit 1 conducted a raid on Texas Smoke Shop in Yashoda Nagar, MIDC, on the evening of March 10, seizing banned e-cigarettes worth ₹2 lakh.
During the operation at around 7:40 PM, the police arrested Navin Vijay Khandelwal (28), a resident of Dattatraya Nagar, Hudkeshwar, for illegally stocking and selling flavored e-cigarettes for profit.
The seized items included different types of flavored e-cigarettes, which are prohibited under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act.
A case has been filed at MIDC Police Station under sections 4, 5, 7, and 8 of the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act. The accused and the seized items were handed over to MIDC police for further action.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP Nisar Tamboli, Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil. The raid was executed by PI Amol Deshmukh and his team.
