Education Institute Secretary Arrested in Fake Appointment Scam

Nagpur, India: Police have arrested the former secretary of an educational institute in connection with a fake appointment case involving forged documents. The accused, Raju Kewalram Meshram (59), was taken into custody around 2 am on Sunday in Nagpur. This is the first arrest of a secretary in the ongoing investigation.

Meshram, a resident of Arjuni Morgaon in Bhandara district, was formerly the secretary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar School in Pimpalgaon. He was removed from his post after internal disputes and later challenged the decision in a tribunal after approaching the charity commissioner.

During the investigation, police found Meshram had links with Mahendra Mhaiskar, a teacher accused of preparing fake documents for school job appointments. Meshram's wife is the principal of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar School in Parastoda, where another teacher with ties to Mhaiskar is also employed.

Meshram is also connected to Nanaji, the father of Parag Pudke, who was earlier arrested in the same case. Nanaji had asked Meshram to help find a job for his son. Meshram then introduced Parag to Mhaiskar, who created fake documents for the appointment.

Meshram’s role was exposed during Mhaiskar’s questioning. Following his arrest, he was presented before a court, which ordered him to be kept in police custody for two days, according to Senior Police Inspector Manish Thakre.

The police are continuing their investigation to uncover others involved in the fake appointment racket.
